Early Memory

I would say when I was 9 months old, I woke up from a nap and started walking for the very first time. My parents were coming back from doing laundry and caught me walking. They were also able to capture it.

On Your Playlist

A few songs from the 70s by Air Supply; Stevie Wonder; Earth, Wind, and Fire; Ed DeBarge. I also have a mix of reggae, soca, hip hop, and R&B.

"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough." -Oprah Winfrey

I started my fitness journey in August 2012 and have been passionate about it since. Being able to pay it forward and help others achieve their fitness goals has been a passion of mine as well, I truly find it rewarding when I hear success stories from the people I’ve helped directly (or indirectly). I’ve found fitness has helped me with my insecurities, I’ve learned to love myself, and view life in a more positive way. It’s also my go-to when I’m stressed out, upset, and frustrated, it’s my outlet. Although I’m not perfect and have flaws like everyone else, I’m extremely proud of my determination, discipline, positive outlook on life, and big heart.
Besides fitness, I do enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my other half. I love everything about summer (but the mosquitoes). I am a homebody most of the time and prefer to relax at home with a bowl of popcorn while watching a movie or a few of my shows – one of my guilty pleasures: reality shows. Ha! And there are days when I get the urge to put my dancing shoes on and dance the night away –  I enjoy listening and dancing to soca, reggae, hip hop, and R&B.
I started my own blog called Diary of a Beast Barbie in 2015 where I document my fitness journey, share healthy recipes I’ve cooked, and post tips and motivational quotes. Confession: I haven’t had the time to update it recently so I definitely need to set aside a day or two to work on it.
