Early Memory

I always loved sports and was a competitive swimmer for more than 20 years. However, skiing only appeared in my life after moving to Canada (yes! In Brazil there is no snow! Lol). My very first contact with XC ski happened when a friend asked me to join her and her family one afternoon for a skiing in a local trail near downtown Winnipeg. It was just a 5km loop, and despite the challenges of gliding down and “climbing” up snow hills, I simply felt in love with the sport and saw there an opportunity to try once more to achieve my dream of participating in the Olympic Games.

Tons of electronic music for training/race warm ups, but in general I’m quite eclectic.

Personality Traits: passionate, focused, dedicated, hardworking, geek

Interests, and Hobbies: Drawing (charcoal and pencils) and oil painting. Also, I love swimming and the outdoors in general: biking, running, hiking, anything that’s out there and involves moving around, I’m in! Besides my sports-life, I am a scientist (PhD in Biomedical Engineering). So, reading and learning new things are up there on my list of interests.
